What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a healing art that works with muscle, nervous and skeletal dysfunction. Often a problem in one or all of these elements will cause muscle weakness, sensation disturbances, pain and reduced range of motion. In this office, soft tissue is first addressed. Then, if necessary, treatment of the joint through a controlled force (adjustment) is given. Chiropractic adjustments are the method with which normal joint movement is restored.

Today's doctors of chiropractic must be highly trained. Required courses of study for a chiropractic doctorate include anatomy, physiology, pathology, chemistry, diagnosis, neurology, X-ray, MRI, pharmacology, physical therapy, massage and psychiatry as well as specialized chiropractic courses. Because of this intense education, today's chiropractor is qualified and capable of relieving a wider range of ailments, pain and suffering than ever before. Modern chiropractic has achieved recognition as a comprehensive, scientifically sound force among the health professions.
